Make a REGULAR PAPER sized poster, with ½ for estar and ½ for ser (or you can make 2 posters - 1 for estar and 1 for ser).

 

Using clipart or magazine pictures, pick 5 pictures that go with 5 different reasons for using estar, and 5 pictures that go with 5 different reasons for using ser.


Put the pictures on the appropriate side (ser or estar), and write a sentence in Spanish by each picture
that illustrates the reason you used it. Label each setence with E or S followed by the number of reason.

Example: Picture of a girl in a class = estar (location) = E-1

Spanish sentence = La chica está en la clase. E-1

5 First, write a complete sentence (verb+subject+some more) in the present tense. For example: Ella nada en la piscina. Then translate it to English: She swims in the pool. Then, write the same sentence in the simple future tense and translate it: Ella va a nadar en la piscina = She is going to swim in the pool. Finally, write it into the present progressive tense and translate it = Ella está nadando en la piscina = She is swimming in the pool.

You will write sentences in Spanish PER TENSE (3 tenses), for each of 6 subjects, for a total of 18 sentences in Spanish.

Present tense Spanish sentence with translation.

Same sentence as above, but in the simple future.

Same sentence as 1st sentence, but in the -ing tense.

18A Make a family tree. You must have at least 10 people on your paper that are connected with relationship lines. You ARE allowed to make up a pretend family if you wish, and they can be aliens, famous people, cats, dinosaurs-whatever.

Make sure you address these family members: grandparents, aunts & uncles, cousins, parents and brothers & sisters.

For each person listed, you must have: (Example below:)

A picture / drawing of them.

Their name (Ella se llama ___________________)

How each is related to you (Ella es mi ___(madre, hermana, etc.)___)

Where they live (Ella vive en _________________)

Two characteristics / traits (Ella es inteligente y simpática )

You will also get extra credit for making this look nice, but PLEASE don't bring in anything bigger than 2 pieces of paper put together.

1) You may write in Spanish with anything you've learned so far and / or you may copy Spanish into your book,

2) You may write in English about your feelings about Spanish class & how you like it & what you've learned so far, and / or

3) You may write in English about Spanish topics, such as you could research a holiday & write down why it's celebrated, when, and what the traditions are, or you could look up song lyrics in Spanish & write them in your book, or something like that.
