Welcome to Mrs. Park's Class Website

This week's homework:

*Read for at a minimum of 10 minutes each day and record books on yellow sheet. Please extend your child's learning by asking them questions about the story: for example, what is the problem/solution, retell, explain something that happened in the beginning/middle/end, etc...

EXTRA HOMEWORK:

*Look on the back of our weekly news for extra credit homework - complete an activity, bring it in to share or have your parent sign the box to choose a prize out of the treatsure box!

*Use letter flash cards that were sent home to practice letters and sounds.

*Practice counting objects reading and writing numbers - especially from the 'teens' on...

*Please keep practicing writing your name - 1st letter capital all others lowercase!!!! Most are doing very well on this - some reminders are still needed but we keep working on it! Write it in the steam on your shower door, write it in pudding, shaving cream..., use chalk, crayons.

Upcoming events:

At the end of the year we will be going to see the play Frog and Toad at the Seattle Children's Theater. The cost will be about $15.00 per student for the ticket and bus. Money will need to be in by the end of April. We will need parent volunteers to accompany us. I will send home a note asking who is available soon. (M/W class sill be going on Wednesday, June 1st and T/Th class will be going on Thursday, May 26th) I saw the play on March 16th and it was fabulous. The sets are amazing and everyone will enjoy the animated performance of the actors.

Some of the books we have read lately:

Chapter book: The Littles Ask your child if they would like to be only 6 inches tall and what adventures they would have!

Books about bugs and butterflies.

Diary of a Worm

To see how many books we have read this year, stop by and look at our paper chain in the front of the classroom. Each time we read a book we make a chain! We've read over 95 this year already!!!!!!!

Questions/Requests from Mrs. Park:

For an upcoming project we will need clean, labelless, soup size tin cans. If you could begin sending in a few that would be wonderful!
