Writing is a crucial part of learning in 2nd grade. As part of the core learning foundation of reading and math, writing improves with practice and is a significant part of a student's success in school and beyond. Writing every day is an important factor in a student's growth and learning as a writer.

The Sharing assignment for the week of June 7-11 (2004) was a paragraph writing about our field trip to Edmonds Beach on Friday, June 4. Four students, Amanda A., Brittany K., Dylan T., and Alejandra J., gave permission to have their work shared online. Each was also quite willing to examine their paragraph further to see what could be done to their work to improve the paragraph and increase the level of score. See their writing below! |
