Grade Questions and Concerns? See Frequently Asked Questions Below... 1. I always check my grade online, and I know I turned this one assignment in. It's not in Skyward! ====> Check the "No Name" Folder by the front door. If you locate your assignment, put your name on it and turn it in. ====> Check through your binder and locker to be sure that you don't have the assignment. ====> If the assignment was turned in later than the due date, it may not be graded yet. Wait a week. If it's still missing, then ask. Remember: Grades are updated online every Sunday evening! 2. I don't like my grade very much. What can I do to improve? ====> Check online to see if there are any "zeros" on your grade sheet. If there are, start turning in ALL YOUR ASSIGNMENTS ON TIME. TIP
: Copy the Schedule in your planner each Monday (or print from this site and tape to your planner). Check the planner at the end of each day to bring home necessary materials. Finally, check off the tasks each night when completed and bring the assignments to class! ====> Keep a current Assignment Log in class. Awareness is KEY!
Don't let your grade become "troubled water"...
Use the "bridges" below to help you complete your middle school expedition!
3.I don't have any "zeros", but I still don't like the grade. What can I do? ====> Take advantage of REDO options. If you didn't receive a 10/10 on the warm-ups from last week, you may redo them by Friday of this week. A couple of points can really add up over time! ====> Read the comments on the gradesheet. Remember to turn in complete assignments. ====> Use class time wisely. Labs require time. Homework time is given so that you can ask questions. Don't get swamped with unnecessary homework, and most especially homework that you don't understand! --> Part of your grade is based on quality class participation! ====> Pay Attention in Class. Take good notes and keep them organized in your lab book. Be sure there is an up-to-date Table of Contents pages in the beginning and all pages used are numbered. ====> If absent, look over the material in the "What'd I Miss?" folder. If lab work needs to be made up, sign up to come to study club. Also sign up if you're not understanding a topic in class. ====> Take home your lab notebook to study before a test or quiz and review often! Here are some Hints to help you review: (1) Explain your notes to a friend (2) Draw a sketch/cartoon of what you think each term means. (3) Make Flashcards and Use them. (4) Recite your notes out loud ====> When assigned a long term project, break it up into steps. A little work each day makes stress go away! ====> Turn in all your missing assignments so that you will be allowed to do the extra credit when offered during the trimester. Remember: Extra Credit is extra. It will not make up for weeks of poor/missing work in a trimester !
