Students: On this page you will find Mr. L's expectations, requirements, and helpful hints for you to be successful in band at Meadowdale Middle. Please review them and send any comments or questions you might have to Mr. Laven . MMS BAND STUDENT EXPECTATIONS
1. Be on time.
2. Be prepared with instrument, music and a pencil.
3. Have a positive attitude
4. Do your best. 5. Be a Team Player, respectful of fellow students, their feelings and personal belongings; be willing to help others.
6. Be responsible for your instrument, music, and other school equipment. Provide a name tag on your instruments case, make sure it is properly stored and cared for.
7. Attend all performances.
8. Practice your instrument at least 1.5 hours per week (15-20 minutes every day).
CLASSROOM RULES
1. When the Director is on the podium, everyone is silent.
2. Play YOUR instrument only. Dont touch anything that does not belong to you.
3. Avoid talking and playing out of turn during rehearsal.
4. No food, candy, or electronic devices in the music room.
5. Stay in assigned seats until dismissed.
CONSEQUENCES
Forgetting instrument twice or 3 tardies to class = DETENTION
Playing out of turn/disrupting the class twice = DETENTION
Two (2) DETENTIONS = CALL HOME
Three (3) DETENTIONS = REMOVAL FROM CLASS UNTIL PARENT/TEACHER CONFERENCE

7th & 8th graders: Let's get practicing those instruments at home! Also don't forget to turn in your music fee - $20 for the year ($30 if you have 2 music classes).
