7353 - STUDENT TRANSPORTATION POLICY

It is the policy of Edmonds School District that the transportation of students and student groups for curricular-related activities shall be by District transportation or bonded carrier whenever practical or possible unless the superintendent or his/her designee determines otherwise. When District transportation or bonded carrier transportation is not practical or possible or the superintendent or his/her designee determines otherwise, the transportation of students and student groups may be by personal vehicles in accordance with the administrative procedures. The administrative procedures address the following methods of student transportation:
I. Staff Member Use of District-Owned/Hired Vehicles
II. Staff Member Use of Personal Vehicles
III. Non-Staff/Volunteer Use of Personal Vehicles
IV. Student Driver Use of Personal Vehicles
V. Training and Authorization of Drivers and Vehicles
Field trip transportation for students shall be governed by Policy 7350 and Administrative Procedure 7350 R1.
Student transportation to and from athletic and extra-curricular activities is the responsibility of the student's parent or guardian unless the superintendent or his/her designee determines otherwise.
