Question (2pts): This should be a complete sentence outlining what you want to investigate including the manipulated and responding variables.  For example, “What happens to... (responding variable) when I... (manipulated variable)?

Prediction/Hypothesis (3pts): This is the preliminary answer to your question before you have conducted the investigation.  It should include: If (manipulated variable)...then (responding variable)...because (what I already know).

Materials (4pts): A complete list of everything used in the lab.  INCLUDE controlled, manipulated, and responding variables.

Procedure (2pts): This should be a complete numbered list that another person could use to duplicate the experiment.

Data (4pts): information gathered during the lab (can be charts, graphs, qualitative and/or quantitative data).  All data must be correctly displayed and include a title for the data/observations and appropriate units when necessary.

Review (3pts) – Restate the question and hypothesis and explain why you chose your hypothesis.

Process (2pts) - Briefly restate the procedure you followed in this lab (do NOT use numbered steps).

Results (3pts)– Use your data and state what happened.  Discuss patterns present in your data.

Analysis (4pts)– Answer the question of the lab, include plausible reasons for your findings.  Evaluate your hypothesis based on the data (was your hypothesis correct or incorrect?).  Identify the variables in the lab and discuss how your manipulated variable changed your outcome.  Discuss any potential errors and/or revisions to future experiments.

Total Score = 30 Points
