This site contains a wealth of information.  First you will find a list of organizations that advocate for gifted children.  Next are several informational sites you will find useful followed by journals and publications you might find of interest.  Below that are several additional opportunities available to gifted children and listed last are competitions that spark the interest of many gifted children.

Organizations

• American Association for Gifted Children
  The AAGC is the nation's oldest advocacy organization for gifted children.  It was established in the late 1940's.  AAGC also has a role in the Presidential Scholars program which recognizes outstanding high school graduates each year. 
   
• Center for Gifted Children
  The College of William and Mary created a Center for Gifted Education in 1988, under the direction of Joyce VanTassel-Baska, with a specific mission statement and goals, based on an understanding of the needs of gifted and talented individuals across the lifespan.

• Council for Exceptional Children
  An advocacy group which focuses on the needs of gifted children within the broader range of diverse special needs children.
   
• The Hollingworth Center for Highly Gifted Children
  The Hollingworth Center is a national support and resource network focused on the needs of highly gifted children. The Center primarily serves as a clearinghouse of information and events concerning the needs of highly gifted children.
   
• National Association for Gifted Children
  An advocacy group consisting of parents, professional educators, and affiliate groups from the various states to support gifted education at the national level. 

• National Research Center on the Gifted and Talented
  The mission of The National Research Center on the Gifted and Talented is to plan and conduct a program of high quality research that is theory-driven, problem-based, practice-relevant, and consumer-oriented.
   
• Washington Association of Educators of the Talented And Gifted
  WAETAG is a professional organization of educators dedicated to improving educational opportunities for gifted and talented students.
   
• World Council for Gifted and Talented Children
  Works to focus world attention on gifted and talented children and ensure the realization of their valuable potential to the benefit of humankind.

• Gifted Child Quarterly
  GCQ publishes manuscripts that offer new or creative insights about giftedness and talent development in the context of the school, the home, and the wider society. The journal also publishes quantitative or qualitative research studies as well as manuscripts which explore policy and policy implications. 
   
• Gifted Child Today
  Gifted Child Today offers timely information about teaching and parenting gifted and talented children.
   
• Journal of Secondary Gifted Education
  The Journal of Secondary Gifted Education offers education professionals comprehensive and critical information needed for building an effective educational environment for gifted adolescents. The journal offers a mixture of innovative theory and research focused on adolescents.
