LATE WORK POLICY

We believe students should be responsible for their work.  Historically, we are consistently overwhelmed by the amount of late work students are turning in despite ample time provided in class to begin and/or complete work.  The quality of work is severely compromised and students continually fall further and further behind as late work piles up.  Students should be tackling homework each night, Monday through Thursday.  You can help by checking their assignment sheets regularly.

The Policy:

1) Student’s missing work will be highlighted on the Assignment Sheet.  Students may receive a Missing Work Report for all missing work that has been entered into our grading program.

2) The Missing Work Report will be stapled to the current week’s assignment sheet.

3) All missing work is due by the due date set on the Missing Work Report.

4) Once the late assignments are completed, attach a lonely paper slip and turn them into the appropriate teacher’s designated place.  If students receive more than one Missing Work Report, they have missing work from more than one teacher.

Please, please, PLEASE encourage your child to . . .

-         keep their binder organized with papers clipped in appropriate sections

(You, parents, please do not remove any papers.  Time will be given in class to clean out binders and remove unnecessary papers.)

-         check their assignment sheet each night

-         prioritize and complete all homework due for the next day, and

-         then, work on long-term projects

Thank you for your support,

Sincerely,

Ms. Wickham, Mrs. Kenney, Ms. Moline, Ms. Hall & Ms. Donnelly
