HTML Tips & Tricks

Do you need web site building software?

Contact Chris Bailey by email or by calling 7264.

Well you've come to the right place. This site is a collection of resources, documents, and links to information to help you build your site. If there is anything you'd like to see added to this site, please contact Jennifer Piplic, the Community Relations and Web Content Specialist, and she'll look in to it.

Q: Where do I start?
A: The first thing you need is a staff web account. Only district employees with a distrcit e-mail account are eligible for a staff web account. To request one, use the Staff Web Site Account Activation Request form.

Q: I have an account, now what?
A: You will receive an e-mail with your user name and password and the information about the URL for your site. Once you have built your site (whether it is using FrontPage, Word, Dreamweaver, Notepad, etc.), you will need to FTP the files to the server.

If you are interested in placing photos, artwork, or naming students on your website, please download and distribute the permission form (.doc) in advance.

Q: What is FTP and how do I use it?
A: FTP, or File Transfer Protocol, is a method of moving files from your computer to the server at ESD 189. There are instructions available for PC users (.htm), Mac users (.pdf), and for individuals who use Dreamweaver.
