Reading Intermediate

We just finished the book "The Kid in the Red Jacket". It is about a boy who moves from Arizona to Massachussets. He is not happy about the move and is complaingin to his parents all the time. He has a new friend Molly who lives acroos the street and is very annoying. The book describes the trials and tribulations of a new kid at school and the problems of having a little girl who is six years old and wants to be his friend.

Babrbara Parks, the author does a great job of relating the move through the eyes of a ten year old boy.

She has made the book humorous yet adds insightfulness into the problems of being the new kid at school.

 

 

Next

We are going to work on making a book of pictures and discriptions that would help a student who is new to our school.
