Terrace Park 5/6 Challenge
Welcome to Ms. Birchfield’s class. We’re glad you’ve dropped in for a virtual visit. Our website will always be under construction (just like our brains!), so please be sure to check in throughout the year to check out what’s new and exciting. As of November, 2006, this is still very much a work in progress.

Creativity
Did you ever hear someone whine, “I’m just not very creative?” Ever wonder whether creativity can be taught or learned? Our teacher believes that creativity is a special kind of problem solving, and that anyone can get better at creative thinking with practice. Right now, we are learning about four aspects of creativity so that we will have the tools (strategies) in our toolkits (brains) whenever we want to think out of the box, do some inventing or maybe even work to solve a world problem or two, big or small.

As practice, try to think of as many ways those little pictures above might be alike or related. Go ahead! Take a leap! Brainstorm. It’s gymnastics for your mind.
