I started teaching middle school in 1998. I taught 7th and 8th grade at Maplewood K-8 (also in the Edmonds School District) and then transferred to Meadowdale Middle School in 2003 where I have happily been ever since.
I married Don, the love of my life, on January 15, 1981. Between us, we have 3 adult children and four grandchildren. Our two dogs, Gypsy (the smart dog) and Thunder (the stupid dog) were born in 1996 and 1997. Our new puppy, Storm, was born on October 12, 2005.
My daughter, Diedre, just moved from New York to Los Angeles in order to further her acting career. She’s not exactly making a living at it yet, but she’s hopeful for the future. My stepdaughter, Melissa, lives in Phoenix with her son and daughter, and my stepson, Sid, lives in Eastern Washington with his two daughters.
As I am really old (I was born in 1949), I have lived through many adventures. My parents moved every two years, allowing me to live most of my elementary years in eastern states, and most of my high school years in Venezuela and Barbados. I also traveled extensively through Europe in the early 70s. Having rid myself of the need to travel, I have happily lived in Washington since the mid 70s.
My husband and I spend most of our free time on some property we own in the mountains above Chelan. While there, we hike, watch the wildlife, read, and count the stars.
I look forward to a wonderful year at Meadowdale, a place where staff share
equally the desire to promote excellence in our students.
