8th grade English News
In Eighth grade English, we are currently reading the novel Animal Farm. Each student has been given their own copy of the novel to take home in order to do any outside reading and study questions. Our goal is to read one chapter per day. After completing the Animal Farm Unit, there will be a short (2-3 day) District Writing Assessment. We plan to finish off the year with a short poetry unit entitled "Song Writing 101" and a portfolio review. A housekeeping note: We will be collecting any borrowed or checked out books by June 8th. Please have your student locate these and make sure they are in the condition checked out to them-new to good, with no marks in them. Two books signed out to everyone: the large Prentice Hall Writing and Grammar text and the small pamphlet Handy Pages. We are also missing some Ties that Bind, Ties that Break novels. If you see one of these please send it back to us!
