PROGRAM PURPOSE

The purpose of the Edmonds Certificated Staff Mentoring ("CSM") Program is to assist teachers in the first two years of their career in refining their teaching skills and orienting them to the Edmonds Public School District, including its goals, curriculum, and culture. Through this program, a mentor teacher coaches each teacher with support from other mentor teachers, district staff, and the EEA-District Professional Development Program. The program focuses on the development of a trusting relationship between new teacher and mentor so that a safe learning environment is created.
