PROGRAM PROCESS

Process used to determine if an individual qualifies for the
Certificated Staff Mentoring (CSM) Program

    1. Each new hire will receive a Certificated Staff New Hire Information Sheet in their hiring packet (see attached).

    • This form is not the official verification of experience, but will be used as an initial screen to determine who tentatively qualifies for the Certificated Staff Mentoring Program.Any certificated staff who has less than 180 full days of teaching experience, including substitute teaching, is considered a "first year" teacher.
    • Any certificated staff who has between 180 and 360 full days of teaching experience, including substitute teaching, is considered a "second year" teacher.
    2. The Principal or Supervisor will turn the 'Certificated Staff New Hire Information Sheet' into the Certificated Staff Mentoring Program Manager, at the ESC. The new hire will give the Human Resource Department all other forms from the hiring packet prior to starting work.
    3. The Certificated Staff Mentoring Program Manager will keep a copy of the form and a copy will be sent to HR.
    4. The Certificated Staff Mentoring Program Manager will inform the principals/program managers of any teacher who tentatively qualifies for the program.
    5. The Human Resource Department will keep the Certificated Staff Mentoring Program Manager informed of those teachers who officially qualify for the Certificated Staff Mentoring Program through bi-monthly or monthly reports run by building and sorted by experience.
