CHALLENGE PROGRAM
Identification and Placement

  • The Multi Disciplinary Selection Team Reviews a Matrix (or composite chart) of student scores PLUS other information on each student
  • They review and identify the students who have the highest need for gifted or highly capable services
  • Decisions on placement recommendations for the identified students are made by the committee
  1. Final Screening involves a gathering of additional existing data and information on assessment scores common to all students being referred.
  2. District assessment records, academic achievement data, parent and teacher referral information, plus any other pertinent information available will be considered in the process.
  3. Students will not be affected in a negative way if there is a missing test score or other data. If there is need for more information, parents will be contacted.
  4. The Multi-Disciplinary Selection Committee is assisted by the District Assessment office to compile and understand the student's assessment profile.
