Introduction

A curriculum framework is an instructional guide that describes what students should know and be able to do throughout their school years and beyond. It includes instructional best practices and describes district and classroom assessments. Teachers use the framework to design lessons that incorporate meaningful instruction and assessment strategies.

The Edmonds Elementary Curriculum Framework is organized to align with state standards. The Washington State Essential Academic Learning Requirements (EALRs/Grade Level Expectations) are clear targets for students and teachers across the state. Thus, if an Edmonds teacher uses the Edmonds Curriculum Frameworks, they will indeed be teaching students the Essential Academic Learning Requirements as tested in the 10th grade WASL and beyond.

The Edmonds School District complies with all federal and state rules and regulations and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, gender, or disability. This holds true for all students who are interested in participating in educational programs and/or extracurricular school activities.
