Course Description |
This course is a college preparatory class and is strongly recommended for any student who is considering attending a four-year college or university. Emphasis is on the introduction to the basic principles of calculus that are generally covered in the first semester of college calculus. Units of study in this course are functions (their graphs and their rates of change), derivatives, limits of functions, analytic geometry, integration, and the applications of these topics. Since most of this course is covered with the use of a graphing calculator, it is strongly recommended that students own a graphing calculator and are familiar with its use. Learning will be demonstrated through class participation, daily assignments, quizzes, tests, and written responses to complex problems (Problems of the Week). |
