Course Description

This is the second of a two-part offering for Advanced Placement English. It includes reading, study, and critical analyses of selected poems, prose passages, complete novels, and plays, as well as chances to creatively interpret great works. Students will deepen their knowledge of the history of English and World Literature as they discover intellectual challenges and argue with expert critics. This course will follow the presented Advanced Placement curriculum. Students will read such literature as: Catch-22, Crime and Punishment, Heart of Darkness, The Stranger, Beowulf, Death of a Salesmen, Hamlet, and Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead. College credit may be awarded to those who own earn qualifying scores on the AP Language and Composition Exam.
