MLE Weekly News • November 16-20

PTA Holiday Food Drive continues through this week. Donations of non-perishable food items are being accepted for gift baskets that will be distributed next week to our Martha Lake families in need of a little help this holiday season.

5th Grade Holiday Wreath sales also continue this week. Profits will be used for 5th grade Outdoor School Fees.

 :
You have probably noticed that when the weather is wet and windy, our parking lot gets very congested! In order to help keep traffic moving, please remember that there are two lanes who need to merge into one at the exit of the lot and that if the crossing guard is there, you can only turn right.
If you would like to park, please walk your student up to the building for their safety. Allowing extra time in the mornings will be necessary so that all students can be in their classrooms by 8:40.
We are having many tardy students and we are not able to get the correct lunch counts sent in to the district which affects our food quantity.
Please remember that the Martha Lake Baptist Church is another drop off and pick up location that might be a less stressful option. Thank you for your help with this continuing issue.

• Do not send children to school
if they are sick.

Children who are determined to be sick
while at school will be sent home.

How do I know when I
should keep my child home
from school or daycare?

Does your child have a fever
(100º F or 37. 7ºC)?
If you don’t have a thermometer,
feel your child’s skin with your hand.
If it is much warmer than usual
your child probably has a fever.

Does your child have a sore throat,
cough, body aches, vomiting,
or diarrhea?

If you answered “yes” to either question,
your child could have the flu.

Keep your child home from school
for at least 24 hours after his or her
temperature returns to normal without
the use of fever reducing drugs such
as acetaminophen or ibuprofen.

If your child never had a fever, you
should keep your child home for 24
hours after symptoms have stopped.
