Martha Lake News for December 1-5

Good morning and happy December!
I hope everyone had a fantastic Thanksgiving and long holiday weekend.

This is always a very busy month at Martha Lake, so I will do my best to keep you updated on all the important happenings during the next couple of weeks.

This Tuesday, 12/2 is picture retake day. It was originally posted as Wednesday, 12/3, but was rescheduled. Pictures will only be taken in the morning starting at 9:30, so any afternoon kindergarteners who need retakes will need to be brought in during the morning for photos. Also, any volunteers who didn’t already get their pictures taken for an I.D. card are encouraged to come in for a free photo. If your student is getting retakes, please remember to send in their unwanted photo packet.

Wednesday, 12/3, cookie dough and wreath orders will be delivered. They can be picked up outside the gym between 3:30-6:30. It is very important that all cookie dough orders be picked up since they need to be kept frozen and we do not have the space to store orders that are not picked up. Any unclaimed orders will need to be donated to the local food bank.

There will also be another Marketplace meeting for 6th grade parents at 4:00.

Friday, Dec. 5th is a NO SCHOOL DAY for staff development.

I am still accepting donations for Clothes for Kids. They are in need of money or gently used winter clothing for kids age 0-18. This fantastic organization provides clothing for kids in our school district that are in need. Volunteers are also needed to help out in their store. Any donations can be brought to our office, and I will deliver them for you, or you can take them directly to the Clothes for Kids office across from Beverly Elementary in Lynnwood.

Tuesday, 12/9, Choir concert 7:00 p.m.
Report cards will be sent home Wednesday, 12/10, so check those backpacks!
Dec. 12th, Student Council Spirit Day – Twin day
Dec. 16th and 17th the 6th grade Marketplace will be held in the gym.
This is a fantastic sale where the 6th graders sell their homemade crafts to raise money for their overnight field trip in the Spring.

Have a great week, and as always, if you have any questions or comments, please let me know!
