Truth or Lie PowerPoint

Primary Application: Microsoft Powerpoint
Secondary Applications: Web browsers, Inspiration, possibly MS Word, Photoshop

Task: Turn the familiar "Truth or Lie" game into an 8-9 slide interactive Powerpoint presentation.

Description: Create eight Powerpoint slides that will comprise your truth and lie stories about yourself. Navigation through the Powerpoint show will be via automatic slide transitions and action buttons activated by the viewer. Create a 'blue-print' for your project using Inspiration. The Inspiration web will show the links between slides. Rather than setting up this Powerpoint in a linear fashion you will incorporate action buttons to navigate between slides. "Link idea lines" on the Inspiration web should indicate how slides are/aren't linked. Use connectors with single or double arrows where necessary.

Challenges/Extensions

Steps:

  1. Begin by clarifying what three stories you will tell about yourself. Two should be factual and one should be fictitious. The fictitious story may be as believable or unbelievable as you wish.
  2. Create an introductory/title slide for the project. This slide will follow your initial "Portrait" slide. Include images or texts to represent each of your three stories. Turn the text or images into action buttons that link to their respective slides.
  3. Create a slide master with a footer that has your name and an action button. Program the action button to link to the introductory slide.
  4. Design 2 slides for the truth stories and 1 slide for the lie. Include a title, backgrounds, bullet lists or a mini paragraph, photographs & clip art for each slide. Program these three slides to automatically transition from one slide to the next and animate all text and graphics. (Sound optional. Use only if it enhances presentation.)
  5. Construct the "Guess" slide. Design this however you wish with action buttons to a "Truth" slide or a "Lie" slide.
  6. Edit! This includes spelling and grammar check, watching animations to see if they play correctly, checking transitions and action buttons, etc.
  7. Save a final time. (Keep a copy on your jump drive if possible.)
