Project #2

Killoqua: A Photo Montage

Primary Application: MS Word and/or AppleWorks

Possible Secondary Applications: Photoshop Elements, PowerPoint

Objective: Use Word to create a professional looking photomontage or brochure of the Camp Killoqua Experience. You will gain experience utilizing the draw and picture tools in Word or AppleWorks, practice layout and design and learn to save your file as a .doc, .ckw, jpg, gif, pdf or possibly a .mov file.  We will then learn how these (files)can be transferred into a format for use on the yearbook CD.

Description: Create a photomontage or brochure that tastefully, enthusiastically and accurately portrays the Camp Killoqua experience.  Thoughtfully composed and selected pictures accompanied by well-written captions will give your audience good overall information about the wide variety of geographic places and activities available at Camp Killoqua.  The purpose of the assignment is not to create a personal scrapbook of your experience, but rather a visual piece that gives one an informed overall impression or idea of what to expect at Killoqua.

You may use editing tools available in Word, Photoshop or AppleWorks to enhance or edit your photos.  EX: Crop, enlarge, rotate, touch-up, add frames, borders etc. Compile all the photos into a brochure, poster, or flyer.  Use easy-to-read font (size, color, style) for crafting captions for each picture. Thoughtfully layout your pictures and captions in a format of your choice, completing it with a title and possibly a border, map, clipart, etc.
