Use ComicLife to create a multiple page comic book with clear characters, setting and plot. Previously completed "photo-realistic shadow" character from Photoshop assignment should be integrated into the comic strip, along with your partner's character. Images and plot must be school appropriate. Avoid using questionable images and content for the purposes of evaluation. If you enjoy this program you may choose to purchase it for use at home. Also, a free trial version is available to anyone with an internet connection.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Approved storyboard (prior to using Comic Life) On a sheet of notebook sheet of paper that includes

  • plot (in a brief paragraph summary form)
• 'Photoshoped' character
• multiple pages (Use page templates or drag panels to create your own unique template.)
• clear plot

• balance of original images & images from web
• polished layout and design
  • text and images stay w/in margins
  • proper conventions
• Save as a .comic file and print and turn in
• Save as JPG in Public_File for posting to the web and possible use in MMB
• Save as a TIFF in Public_File for color printing

Go beyond the minumum requirements and explore the full potential of Comic Life by customizing the details for panels, photographs, captions and sound. Also, preliminary work may be done in Photoshop to create the exact image you want. (ie: put your character into various backgrounds, combine characters (from both partners) into the same setting, etc. Check out the Help Menu for ideas and look at the Comic Life web site for published comics.

• HOW TO: Creating a comic page in Comic Life is very simple - the user interface is laid out in just the way you need:
  1 Choose a template.
  2 Choose your images and drop each one on to a panel.
  3 Add balloons and captions to the panels.
  4 Add sound effects and a title.
  5 You're done!
