Previous Years' Assignments

  • Show what you know! One class period to put together Word Document that illustrates your expertise with MS Word. Requirements: Name, photograph, 2 complete paragraphs. Suggestions for enhancement given in class.
  • Photo-Realistic Shadows (Photoshop)
  • Comic Book Use Comic Life from Plasq to create a multiple page comic book the integrates your character from the previous Photoshop shadows assignment. (See Comic Life sample here.) Check out completed student projects here! First requirement: submit an informal storyboard (with partner).
  • Comic Book self-evaluation- completing this MS Word form is a graded assignment which serves as a checklist for the comic book project and a self- reporting tool to describe the process of making panel images for the comic book.
  • Word Tips & Tricks (part 1) demonstration of some of MS Word's little used capabilities & turn in after Design & Layout Lesson (Pt. 2) using text from CNN student news transcript.
  • Interactive Form: Use MS Word to create a form template that will be completed by a peer and tracked to your teacher for comments. (Click here to download MS Word example and practice form.)
  • Career Exploration links to required & recommended sites. Occupational Outlook Worksheet to complete with Career Unit. Links to class videos with accompanying quizzes can be found from the career exploration page.
  • Test: Explore this site on music copyright, but your 5 findings should come from the Rules about copyright. Click the "Q" and then follow the link to rules surround copyright.
  • Internet Safety: iSafe Curriculum & other web resources
  • Journey Inside Use these videos and interactive lessons from the Intel web site to learn more about computers. Download and complete the questions while viewing the site.

Inspiration Outline: create a combination web/outline for the Truth & Lie Powerpoint that shows the organizational structure for the slide show.

YOUR CHOICE: Select a project from a menu of choices! Make movies, slideshows, DVD projects, create music, 3D models, Podcasts, manipulate digital photographs and more...
Final Project: Pulling it all together. Link all previous assignments together by finalizing your hyperlinks on the final slide of your Powerpoint.

Web Page: post your assignment to the web with the easy-to-use online tool called Project Poster. Choose to post your Ellis Island reflection or your immigrant portrait. You may also want to check out other places on the web to post your work. (Click here.)

Cube Project
Use a MS Word template to graphically illustrate a 3-D cube using draw, paint, and other applications
Cube Explanation: write a description of the cube faces and save as a jpg file to send as an attached document to your teacher. (see example)
