EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS KIT

We are requesting that EVERY LYNNDALE STUDENT have an Emergency Preparedness Kit at school.  These kits will be kept in your child's classroom for use during school emergencies such as earthquakes, power outage, snowstorm, etc.  All of our students that already took their kit home in June will need to replenish the food items and return to school on the first day of school in September.  This is a small expense to insure your child's comfort.  We are asking that you put as many of the items in the gallon size zip-lock bag as you can.  Please try to put the highest priority items in now and add the rest when you can.

HIGH PRIORITY ITEMS-
*List of persons permitted to pick up your child (Also put this same list on the P-139 form sent home the first day of school.)
*Letter of comfort with family photo
*One packaged juice drink (watch for an expiration date)
*Four of the following food items:

pudding
raisins
cheese & crackers
beef jerky
granola bar
fruit cup
vienna sausage

*Plastic spoon (if needed)
*Emergency phone numbers, one out of state if possible
*Extra prescription medication in a prescription labeled bottle to be kept in the office with directions
*Tiny treasure (stuffed toy or book)
*Emergency blanket - can be purchased at R.E.I., Fred Meyer and Ed's Surplus.

*Pair of heavy socks
*Warm winter hat
*Small flashlight/batteries, light stick, or pinch light
*Large garbage bag with holes cut out for arms and head (rain poncho)
*Small toothbrush/paste

Each kit will be sent home at the end of the school year.  Please replace outdated food and drink and return it at the beginning of the next school year.  These kits are also great to keep in your car during the summer for emergencies.
