Trekker provides fast and easy access to more than 180,000
high quality, pre-screened, and educationally relevant K-12 websites.
- ProQuest provides
access to hundreds of full text periodicals for classroom and
professional use.
- eLibrary
Elementary (designed for elementary students) or
eLibrary (more
appropriate for students in grades 5-12).It is a general information
database that includes books, magazines, images, and transcripts.
- CultureGrams provides
historical, geographical and cultural information. (Includes:
Kids Edition, Recipes, World Edition, Famous People, Provices
Edition and States Edition).
- Britannica Online
Britannica Online is actually three encyclopedias: Britannica-Elementary
School (useful for K-6 school students), Britannica-Middle
School (great for middle school students), and Britannica-High
School (mostly for secondary students). Also available:
Britannica-Elementary Activties, Britannica-Middle School
Activities, Britannica- High School Activities, Britannica-Images
and Multimedia, and Britannica-Webs Best Sites.
- ABC-Clio
provides students with four social studies resources. American
History and United States at War are
specialized encyclopedias of American history. World History:
Ancient and Medieval Eras and World History:
The Modern Era are specialized encyclopedias of World
history. All four provide access to primary source documents,
biographies, timelines, and much more. They are primarily intended
for students in grades 6-12, but are available to all students
and staff.
- Facts.com provides
high school students with access to Issues and Controversies
(for in-depth information about current issues) and Today's
Science (for issues in science - only available until
February 2010).
In addition, if you have a
library card from the Sno-Isle
Library System, you have access to many more online resources,
as well as the ability to search for and reserve library books.
