Computer Club is open to all 4th,
5th & 6th grade students. It is a self-paced
class (not games) and students will learn computer
basics, Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Internet use. Space
is limited and you must sign up to be a part of this
club. The advisor for the
club is Wynnmarie Hinze. |

Art Club meets on
Thursdays from 3:30pm to 5:30pm and is an option for all
students in grades one through six.
Under the direction of Mrs.
Blackstone, concepts in many kinds of art from painting,
sculpture, multimedia and drawing are all included. |

Chorus is open to all 4th, 5th and
6th graders who would like to pursue their interest in
singing in a large group. The group is formed in the
fall and meets during noon recess. There are many performance
opportunities throughout the year at school venues as
well as holiday festivals.
The director of the Highlights is
Kylene Ries, with Linda Babin as the pianist. |

Whether is it about learning a new
language or the ability to communicate with the hearing
impaired, the ASL Club examines techniques and lessons
in American Sign Language.
The teachers are Rachael Curry and
Helen Rawlins and the advisor is Brandis Roundy. |

Orchestra and Band programs are
also offered at Hilltop. These groups perform annually
at the Hilltop Arts Festivals and scheduled concerts.
There are separate bands and
orchestras for the 5th grade and the 6th grade.
The bands are under the
direction of Mr. Blosser and the orchestras are under
the direction of Mrs. Loewen. |

Make a move and work on strategies
for Chess. Open for grades one through six, learn to
play and practice games with schoolmates.
The advisor is Mrs. Seugnet
Alberts-Dewar. |

A variety of international dances
are practiced and polished for public performance. The
Heritage Dance Group performs in places such as the
Folklife Festival, Alderwood Mall, and other exciting
locations. Applications for participation are accepted
in the fall and are available to all students in grades

The library is open during recess
times for students to come and read, check out resources
and do related work.
Also, a special group of
students work each year as Library Helpers under the
direction of Mr. Snyder. |

Boys have special interests in the
books they read, and this club brings them together for
discussion of books and literature. |
 |
The Window Room is open each
recess. Children may choose among a variety of
activities. Each week an art project is offered, i.e.,
stringing pasta for necklaces, origami, making
valentines, etc. Games, books, toys, building
apparatus, drawing paper, color sheets, stencils,
stamps, and puzzles are also for the children to expand
on their imagination. Students may also bring classroom
work to complete. |
