In-School Closure Procedures
Edmond's School District has developed an emergency preparedness plan that
will be initiated in case of an emergency such as fire, power outage, volcanic
eruption, earthquake, or snow closure. Should such an emergency occur
during school hours, your children may be required to remain at school until the
appropriate safety officials determine the condition's safe for release. In
an emergency, no students will be released early from school except to the
appropriate parents or previously authorized persons with valid picture
identification.
Authorized persons are those identified on the Student Emergency Release
Authorization form which should have been completed by a parent of each
child. This form is filed with Hilltop's administrative office and a copy
is provided to the student's teacher.
In the event of an emergency closure, Hilltop staff will stay with the students and your child will receive their Komfort Kit. Please do not call the school. This will only tie up the phone lines. School staff and volunteers will contact parents to provide them with appropriate information.
