Attention all 4th – 12th grade singers, dancers, actors and those who love to perform!

On May 28-30, 2009, Edmonds Elementary put on an all-school musical production of Disney's the Jungle Book.  The cast, chorus, drummers and sound technicians performed to packed audiences with standing ovations.  Bravo EE Orcas!!!  Funding was made possible by a STARS Foundation grant.  Thanks to all the volunteers, especially Dorothy Pierce and Carol Davies, for making this production possible.  And a big thank you to our professional guest directors, Angela and Terence Kelley, and our very own Music Teacher extraordinaire, Mrs. Floe!

Brought to you by the Mountlake Terrace High School Music Department... The Young Americans National Music Outreach Program is coming back to do a music, dance, and theater workshop this fall.  We had them four years ago and 175 students had a blast!  It will be held September 24-26 at Edmonds Homeschool Resource Center and includes classes in vocal technique, dance, stage movement, theatre games and stage presence.  It will end in a performance with the entire cast at this location.  The cost is $60 per student.   The Young Americans have been touring since 1993 working with students in every corner of this country and internationally as well.  They have successfully shown the importance of music to each community and shown students how to grow in self esteem, team work and self-worth.  And besides that, it is just so fun!  Michelle Walters, a parent from Mountlake Terrace High School and Maplewood Cooperative School is a former graduate of the Young Americans. She had fabulous training and performing opportunities with them and will testify that this is truly an amazing and awesome workshop.  Please consider taking advantage of this opportunity. See your music teacher for details and registration forms. Please contact Michelle Walters at 425-908-7914 or walters.home@comcast.net if you have any questions regarding this workshop.  You may register up until the first day of the workshop but the earlier the better.  Hope to see you there!
