LIBRARY

Mission Statement:  To create lifelong learners through appreciation of literature, knowledge of technology and students who utilize all areas of the library.

College Place Elementary Library contains over 9,500 books,  serves a student population of over 600, and utilizes an electronic catalogue.   Each week every class comes in for a 30 minute session.  These sessions consist of approximately 20 minutes of instruction in literature, reference knowledge and computer use and 10 minutes to browse and check out materials from the library.  Books are due back into the library in one week, or are renewed per the student's request.  The library is staffed by one certificated employee, Heather Pickar, and relies on volunteers to help manage shelving, checking-out and renewing, and mending of books.
